Full Terms and Conditions for Cupids Celebration Cakes are detailed below and by booking an order with us it will be deemed that the terms and conditions have been read, understood and accepted by you the customer. 

Prices     

All prices are non-negotiable and are priced according to your specific design and size of the cake.

Deposits & Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to book and secure your order. The outstanding balance is due on or before delivery/collection. No order will be released until the outstanding balance is paid in full. Once deposit is received, you will receive a confirmation email. Cupids Celebration Cakes accepted payment methods are by bank transfer, PayPal or in cash.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your order we reserve the right to retain your non-refundable deposit. If cancellation takes place less than 72 hours before the event we reserve the right to seek 100% of the order value. To cancel an order you will need to contact us by email and the cancellation will take effect from the date that the email is received. 

If you postpone your event and require a cake at a later date we will always endeavour to accommodate your request providing the date is available with us, otherwise it will be treated as a cancellation (please see above) 

Design

It is your responsibility to thoroughly read and check the details of your confirmed design and the quote provided for your cake. Amendments can be submitted by email, however once you have given final approval no further amendments can be made, final approval will take the form of the payment deposit. We reserve the right to amend the design at any time if there are circumstances beyond my control (such as melting due to the weather) that may compromise the finish of the cake. However you will be informed of this in writing. If you wish to alter or change your design before final approval we will strive to adjust this where possible. The nature of the changes required will depend on the timescale and cost if preparations have begun on the original design. We will advise you of the adjustments to your remaining balance and this will need to be agreed by yourself in writing before the alterations can take place.     

Cake Portioning Guide

Our portion guide is an approximation only (see below); the final serving number will vary depending upon how the cake is cut.

6 inch round cake will give you approximately 10-12 portions

7 inch round cake will give you approximately 14-16 portions

8 inch round cake will give you approximately 18-20 portions

9 inch round cake will give you approximately 22-24 portions

10 inch round cake will give you approximately 26-28 portions

11 inch round cake will give you approximately 30-32 portions

12 inch round cake will give you approximately 34-36 portions

9 inch square cake will give you approximately 40 portions

11 inch square cake will give you approximately 50 portions

Damage

Cake decorations are very delicate items and we cannot accept responsibility for any damage that is caused to the cake, or decoration, after it has left our possession. If any damage is caused to the cake after it has left our possession you can contact us and request a repair. The repair will be costed accordingly including any transport costs if necessary.

Best before dates

As our cakes are made of natural ingredients they do not have the extended shelf life of most supermarket cakes that contain additives and preservatives. All cakes are baked to ensure it is fresh for the date of your event and we cannot guarantee the quality if consumed more than 3 days after the receipt of your order. Fondant covered cakes should not be refrigerated as this causes condensation to form on the surface and will affect the visual appearance of the cakes finish.

Complaints

Should you be unhappy with any aspect of your cake please notify us upon collection/delivery of the cake so that we are given an opportunity to rectify it in time for your event. Any other concerns should be made in writing with evidence to support the fault.

Refunds will not be given if an order is cancelled due to change of mind and work or preparations has commenced on your order.

Chocolate

If you have opted for a cake decorated with chocolate we cannot be held responsible for any melting of the cake once it has left our possession. We have no control over the environment or venue temperature and would recommend extreme caution if choosing a cake decorated with chocolate during warmer months e.g. May–September.

Allergens and Special Dietary requirements

All of our cakes contain gluten, dairy and eggs, ingredients such as nuts can be removed from cakes but they are still used in our kitchen (along with other allergens such as soya) so we cannot guarantee that our cakes are completely free of them. At this current time we do not offer special dietary requirement cakes.   

Non-edible items

If your cake design requires the use of non-edible items (such as, but not limited to: support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, cocktail sticks etc) you will be advised about the placement of such items but it is your responsibility to ensure that these items are removed by yourselves/caterers/guests before consumption.

Delivery and Collection

Collection is available from our kitchen premises- Deanshanger, Milton Keynes, MK19 6JL If you choose to collect your cake we will not be held liable for any damage to the cake once it has left our premises.                                                                       

Delivery is possible for an additional charge. Delivery charges are calculated on a mileage and time basis. If you choose to have your cake delivered we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused to the cake once it has left our possession. With this in mind, we will require someone responsible to check the cake, ensure they are happy with it, and sign a waiver stating this before we leave the premises.

At Cupids Celebration Cakes we have your health interests at heart. Any customer with any form of food intolerance or food allergies please be aware that while our cakes are made from natural ingredients, free of preservatives and additives there are other food sources used in our kitchen, so there may be traces of products such as milk, eggs, gluten, soya, dairy and nuts. Cupids Celebration Cakes will not be liable for adverse reactions to cake consumed or other items an individual may come into contact with while eating any of our products.

Cupids Celebration Cakes makes every attempt to identify ingredients that may cause an allergic reactions for those with food allergies, however there is always risk of contamination as in our kitchen we use products such as milk, eggs, gluten, soya, dairy and nuts. Although we have strict cross contamination policies, we cannot guarantee a total absence of these products in any of our items.
